Singles by Brandon Dailey and Daniel Pigott and a walk to Winker help produce two runs for Billings and a 2-1 lead in the third.

Well, we missed a little excitement in Billings. The game was tied 6-6 heading into the bottom of the seventh, when the Mustangs unloaded for five runs. They were only half-finished. They added 11 more in the eighth to win 22-6, actually matching Louisville's run total for the evening.

There were some interesting personal lines.

Brandon Dailey was 3-3 with 2 walks, 2 SB and 5 runs scored.
Daniel Pigott was 5-6 with a HR, 2B, 6 RBIs and 4 runs.
Robert Maddox didn't start the game, but went 4-4 with a HR, 3 RBIs and 3 runs.
Robert Ramirez was 2-6 with 2 doubles and 5 RBIs.
    Beau Amaral was 2-5 with a 3B, 3 RBIs and 3 runs.

Not sure why Winker left the game in the 7th and Carlos Sanchez came out after 2 AB.

Alejandro Chacin pitched the final 2.1 for the win.

Bakersfield also romped, 9-0, behind Rogers: 5 IP, 1H, 5 BB, 5 K, ERA 2.64. Justice French (3 IP) and Daniel Wolford provided shutdown relief.

Home runs by Mattair, Selsky and Danny Vicioso. Mattair had three hits and Bowe two.

Gotcha.......Thanks This kid is pitching great.
Question for the MiL gurus.... Does he get called up to AAA, when Sept. rolls around, or does he hang out in Fla., and help the Hoos in their 2nd half run? I know he started in A+, so would AAA, by seasons end, be too much too soon?

Both the AA and AAA seasons will be all but over by the time callups happen. He'll stay in AA unless something major happens.

I see no reason why Cingrani should not finish out the season in AA.

Rogers is an interesting guy. He's had some very nice success in a hitter's league, with a 2.64 ERA. He gives up less than a hit per inning, but doesn't have a superior K rate. '72 had a short scouting report on him last year, telling Redszone that he was working 92-96 with good command. The MilB website called him a "sinkerballer".

I don't think he has the stuff to stick as a starter, but he could be a nice prospect to watch as he continues through the system. He might be a really nice relief arm, especially if he is indeed armed with a sinker. That would absolutely play in the GABP.

Cincinnati has found some really nice late-round guys in the past two or three drafts. Guys like Rogers, Bryson Smith, Steve Selsky, David Vidal, and Tucker Barnhart were 8th round and lower. All have some interesting facets to their game and at all of them have played above their draft status.

Rogers has been mostly 90-93 as a starter this year, but he is still a two pitch guy. He works down in the zone well. Future reliever, but one with some potential.

Good Deal. Pensacola is having a nice 2nd half, and with additions, have a good nucleus of players, with lots of promise, imo.

    Definitely agree with that.

    C Tucker Barnhart
    3B David Vidal
    SS Billy Hamilton
    CF Ryan LaMarre
    SP Tony Cingrani
    SP Daniel Corcino
    SP Kyle Lotzkar
    SP JC Sulbaran
    RP Brian Pearl
    RP Drew Hayes

That's 10 guys that will all likely grab at least a cup of coffee in the majors, not including others, like Fellhauer, Mills, and that ilk who should make some really nice minor league depth.

Nice balance to the team as well. High ceiling paired with low floor guys with a bunch of baseball rats thrown in.

    Doug,

Do you see Rogers as a 5th to 7th inning guy who comes in when we are behind or tied, or a 6th to 8th guy who called on to hold and/or be the setup guy?

He is a good FB/SL guy from the bullpen. Could be a 7th inning guy, maybe an 8th inning guy if his stuff continues to progress in its consistency.
