To this point though, Heisey has been an overall better hitter through his career in his 700+ PAs.
What do you see in Heisey's defensive game that is average or above average? I honestly just don't see it, and neither has any scouting report I have ever read.

"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Ludwick strikes out swinging on a pitch in the dirt. 2-2 after 6.

If nothing else, it is great watching on espn and listening to real color analysts give gear insight into the play on the field for a change.
Sabermetrics can be boiled down to this simple truism: A batter's goal is to extend the inning. Extend enough innings and you're going to score runs. Extend more innings than your opponent and you're going to score more runs than him.

Part of the mystique, he looks great in small doses but the warts start to show when he gets consistent time.

As opposed to Stubbs who is just always bad.
