Pretty tentative slide there by Heisey at home. Good call by Berry to send him there.
This will not change until the Reds win the World Series.......

Hersisher talking about the ballpark giving up runs after a single, double, single. For some reason, it's really bothering me tonight. Are those hits not hits in other ballparks?
"In our sundown perambulations of late, through the outer parts of Brooklyn, we have observed several parties of youngsters playing 'base', a certain game of ball. Let us go forth awhile, and get better air in our lungs. Let us leave our close rooms, the game of ball is glorious"

The park gives hitters confidence. Supposedly.

The Braves announcers were the worst in that series where we swept them, using the term 'bandbox' about 100 times a night.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

No, you don't get it. It's all about the "confidence" that they have at the plate because of the ballpark.

There should be fewer extra-base hits at least in GABP because of the size.

It is a bunch of crap. The other team plays in the same conditions.

I remember the NYY announcers being beside themselves when they first played there years ago. The Reds beat up on them the first 2 games. Then the Yanks broke out in game 3 and you didnt hear a word about the park.
