If Bruce could just hit a few to the left side, they wouldn't shift over so much.

He hasn't hit the ball to the left side since the first month he was called up.

Sorry the link doesn't work, yes LaRue was probably going to retire after the 2010 season but he really did get a concussion during the brawl. Read the article, here's the url to copy/paste:

The doctors at UPMC, with their reputation of excellence and vast knowledge of handling head injuries, will make sure that LaRue will be able to play catch with his children again. They will help him understand what he needs to do to make sure a crazy fight between a bunch of guys just taking their job seriously will not destroy his future. The question left is whether Major League Baseball do the same.

I know he got a concussion. The concussion, though, didn't end his career. What ended his career was his ineffectiveness as a player - even in a very reduced role. That's my contention.

I can agree to that, but it wasn't the way the career should have ended. I also know he's not going to Cooperstown without a general admission ticket either. The whole brawl thing was dumb from the published comments to the tap on the shinguard to the instantanious bench clearing to the backed up against the fence kicking. TBH, it was amazing to me that LaRue was the only real injury. It did end his career 2 months before it should have though. If it had been a younger player I'm sure they would still be playing - but they wouldn't have been back in 2010.

    6 pitches = 3 outs.
That's 1 thing the Cards haven't done very well this year, work the pitch count.

That's a big plus for the Reds tonight, hope it doesn't continue

Looking back over the past couple of months, it was mid June when we actually had our last blow out game when we scored 12 against the Indians. Every game seems to be a nail biter.
