Very, very admirable performance by Homer thus far.

It's mid-July and I'm way past sick of political ads already.

Scary to think they're just getting revved up.

I think it was showing 47 at some point that last inning. Maybe around 60 now?

If it had been a younger player I'm sure they would still be playing - but they wouldn't have been back in 2010.

No I'm not a Dr. that specializes in Brain Trauma, does that make you feel better?

My assumption (yes you may break the word down if it makes you feel good) was that:

1 - LaRue was most likely going to retire after the season. There was not a formal announcement but it was rumered if I recall correctly.

2 - As a catcher, that wasn't his 1st concussion, he had a few previously with most of those when he was the Reds starting catcher between 2001 and 2005.

    3 - You don't have to be a
Dr. that specializes in Brain Trauma? Correct?
to know that there are residual effects of concussions.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concussion

    It obviously doesn't take a
Dr. that specializes in Brain Trauma? Correct?
to read this and along with the earlier quote where LaRue went to Pittsburgh:

    http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/article/larue/

LaRue will head to Pittsburgh to join the Cardinals on their final road trip. Instead of walking through the clubhouse door to play catch with his teammates, he will walk through the doors of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

The doctors at UPMC, with their reputation of excellence and vast knowledge of handling head injuries, will make sure that LaRue will be able to play catch with his children again. They will help him understand what he needs to do to make sure a crazy fight between a bunch of guys just taking their job seriously will not destroy his future. The question left is whether Major League Baseball do the same.
Hope this clears it up for you, good luck on that one.

As far as repeating BS stories long enough, on that one. PHILLIPS, PHILLIPS, PHILLIPS, PHILLIPS and that junk could go on for the next forever with both clubs 100+ year history.

Heisey has just been getting it done today. He needs to play more. Anytime someone gets on in front of Joey I like our chances.

If Stubbs ever sees the light of day as a regular again (let alone the 2 hole) I may go off the deep end.
