    Sunday 7/15/2012 Minor-League Updates

Dayton tied it in the 9th on a HR by Nick O'Shea and lost it in the 10th, 3-2. Got good pitching from Wes Mugarian and Dan Jensen. O'Shea and Yorman had two hits apiece.

Pensacola leads 3-1 in the third behind Corcino. Mark Fleury drove in two with a double and Corcino singled in the other run.

Beau Amaral delivered his first professional HR and Billings leads 5-1 after six. Amaral and Seth Mejias-Brean have two hits. Good to see Winker and Carlos Sanchez back in the lineup. Winker has a double (and a walk, of course) and Sanchez drove in two with a single.

    Check out Stephenson's line: 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, O BB, 9 K. Like.

I can't wait to see what Bob Stephenson does next year. I'm feeling BIG things.

Stand-up inside the park HR for Slidin' Billy in Pensacola on a ball in the right center gap. The RF dove for it and missed it and it was over from there.
This will not change until the Reds win the World Series.......

Beau Mills added one for the Hoos. It's 6-1 after eight.

    Corcino: 6.1 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 6 K.

Billings wins 9-3. Mejias-Brean went 3-4 with a 2B. Sanchez had a slam, two hits and 6 RBIs. Amaral finished 2-5 with the HR.

Led by Stephenson, Billings pitchers fanned 18 on the day. Erik Miller and Jimmy Moran managed to K four batters in the ninth. Miller's peculiar line: .1 IP, 0 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 2 K.

Louisville, with doubles by Gregorius and Xavier Paul, has scored twice to take a 2-1 lead in the sixth. Pedro Villarreal has given up 8 hits but only the one run.

First-place Pensacola won 6-2. Andrew Means and Miguel Rojas contributed two hits to the cause.

Corcino's ERA is down to 3.05.

LaMarre with another outfield assist. He reminds me of Gerrado Parra with the D-Backs who should be starting for a MLB team somewhere.

Corcino's overall ERA dropped to 3.05. His K:BB ratio improved to 94:45. (That's 2.08. Solid.)

Hamilton's AA numbers (just 20 ABs, five games): .235/ .350/ .500/ 1:1 K:BB ratio. One triple, one homer. Slugger.

In both AA and A+, Hamilton hit his one homer within the first week of play. Apparently, he wanted to get it out of the way quickly.

Hamilton's HR was inside the park.

Louisville finishes it out, 3-2. Villarreal gave up one run in seven IP, and Hoover surrendered one over the final two, picking up the save. H-Rod and Costanzo had two hits.

Noticed that the Mustangs had Gabriel Rosa at SS for the first 6 innings. I'll speculate that Zach Vincej is headed to Billings when he is assigned.
