From Fay a clasic quote from Votto today:

Votto: "I'm here to singlehandedly ruin the winning streak."

I was listening to Marty talk to Mark Sheldon during the game last night, and they said Votto is already doing running, and hitting exercises, and the word is that he might play this Friday night.

So where do we play him when he gets back? Maybe move him back to catcher?

I keep hearing they need a higher OBP guy in CF, so there's your logical position.

He might be good trade bait. It's obvious this team is better without him.

I remember one time going out to the mound to talk with Bob Gibson. He told me to get back behind the batter, that the only thing I knew about pitching was that it was hard to hit.

If he would turn his twin beds into bunk beds, he would have so much room for baseball activities.

    More from Fay on Votto:

Votto is running. "But not at 100 percent." He would not put a timetable on his return. He hasn't begun hitting yet

As much as I'd love to see Votto back by Friday, I don't see it. I'm thinking the earliest we'll see him is sometime next week.

On the bright side, at least Phillips is in the lineup tonight.

Agreed. I don't see it either. I think we'll be without him for at least another week and a half. he not only has to be able to run, he needs to be able to slide
