You figured this team would miss Votto. But this much?

3 runs sure seems like a lot, and it really isn't.

You take the best hitter away from any team and offense will slump. Especially one of Votto's caliber.

Especially in GABP. Home of the no-handed home run.

Okay, this is getting way past slump stage. One run in the last 19 innings for the Reds.

    Back-to-back doubles plate a fourth Diamondback's run.

I agree. Perhaps we should have seen it coming, though.

I just can't believe the approach that most of our batters are stepping into the box with. As you pointed out, 15 first pitch swingers last night. Then Cairo first pitch swinging after Heisey walks.

It's just asinine. It's poor fundamentals. And the reason Stubbs gets so much ire around here in my opinion, is that he's the golden child for this trend on the club: "If your approach is broken, don't fix it."

I'm not a complainer on here. I like to try and be patient and let things come into view because baseball is such a long and twisty season. It is frustrating when there isn't a single guy in the lineup to break the mold. And it's a pretty crummy trend when it applies to most of the team.

I can deal with going to bed upset but now I have to drive home and eat dinner in a bad mood.

6-0. Henry 'Freakin' Blanco hits his first dinger on the season.

reds record without votto moves to 1-3. The guy was 5 WAR before the allstar break, and you guys think the Reds will be ok without him. LOL. Its more than just filling a role, its the motivation of knowing you have a guy who can ****ing hit on your team, he makes everyone better and when he isnt starting everyone is worse.

You figured Leake was due for a bad outing. He has had a nice little run going.
