I know there are a lot of music nuts here on the board, and I was wondering if there would be enough interest in constituting a sub-forum for it. What do you all think? Would it have the admins' blessing?

I'm a music nut myself and would love a music sub-forum. If it wouldn't be too much of a problem for the admins I would be all for it.
I am a pretty big fan of music and I'd certainly participate in a music forum if there were one, though I don't know if there'd be enough discussion to warrant a separate forum. I tend to think it belongs with the rest of the non-sports stuff.
I will say, though, perhaps an 'Entertainment' forum specifically for TV, movies and music would suffice. I think it would make more sense than just music specifically.
"No matter how good you are, you're going to lose one-third of your games. No matter how bad you are you're going to win one-third of your games. It's the other third that makes the difference." ~Tommy Lasorda
GIK and I spoke about this and we're of this mindsight - we've tried subforums around the size of music before and they did not generate enough posts to warrant having a separate forum. We are open to the idea of having a subforum for Arts and Entertainment (the topics Brutus mentioned would be appropriate). For those of you in favor of this idea, would that suffice?
An Arts and Entertainment subforum is a good idea.
Whatever you do, do your best to not allow the struggles of life to interfere with the pleasures of living.
Yeah, I agree. A&E would make more sense. Maybe it's overkill, but there's only one way to find out.

An A & E subforum would be fine with me, though in all honesty that is the bulk of the current "Non-Sports" forum, so it would probably make sense to just leave things as they are.

So an A&E sub forum just off of the Non-Sports forum....I suppose that would be cool.
"You can't let praise or criticism get to you. It's a weakness to get caught up in either one."
--Woody Hayes
I really don't see the point. It seems like chopping up forums just for the sake of chopping up forums. I don't see anything being gained.
Why wouldn't you start a thread about a specific album or book on the Non-Sports Chatter board? It's a totally reasonable place to do so.
Just doesn't seem the place. It's not as if you see many book or album-specific threads on the Non-Sports board. It seems people drop those into the "What are you listening to/reading?" threads, and then only to mention the current album or book, rarely engendering more conversation. I think the A&E board would encourage more discussion.
I've added the new sub-forum and moved all related threads from the first two pages there.
