No he didn't touch that. VERY tough play...and kinda unfair to think he "should've" had it.

Bailey just overthrew that next to last pitch. I don't send him out for the ninth.

    Nice job Homer.

    Yeah, I think that's enough.

Luckily Gomez takes a humongous hack at a 2-0 pitch and hits it straight up. Any time you get down on Drew Stubbs... there's a guy like Gomez to make him look like Joe DiMaggio.

I think Homer is done. Might have gone the distance with an easy eighth but now we'll see the pen.

I'd guess Aroldis. He had Monday and Wednesday off, pitched Tues and Thurs. Pitch him tonight. Rest him tomorrow.

Homer's pitch count is high enough to keep him in the dugout. No sense pushing it.

Homer 112 pitches, now with a 3.74 ERA.

    Excellent outing.

No I'd sit Aroldis tonight and use someone else.

I would rather not use Aroldis, he has been pitching a lot since the break and this lineup is loaded with righties. Get him ready, but try to let Arredondo get the save.

Fantastic start for Homer. I've said this before, I don't care if he gives up a few solo shots or not, if he can limit the walks and keep the ball in the lower part of the strike zone...he'll be VERY good. If he can keep a 2:1 ratio in strikes to balls, he'll have success. Tonight, 78 strikes, 34 balls. That's fantastic.

Gotta wonder if Stubbs knows the strike zone.

Ugh... I might have to take this back after watching the latest Stubbs AB.
