Sorry, can't fault Todd for taking a hack on a hitter's count.
I don't disagree, guy is a rookie, I don't expect him to place the ball perfectly. He did hit it hard.

Turned out to be unproductive, then wild pitch fixed it, then the double play.

    Whatever.

The trouble is it leaves the pitcher leading off, if he takes the walk, yes the pitcher comes up but then he isn't an automatic first out next inning either. I think you always take the walk if its given.

Aoki strikes out. 8 Ks for Bailey
    Gomez pops out to 2nd.

Instead, Stubbs would get to be the automatic first out.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

I understand your point and see the logic.

Your point is stronger in the case of a Mesoraco, a relatively inexperienced hitter.

But a veteran hitter there, wants to hit the sacrifice fly, gets a pitch off the plate he can handle, I want the sac fly even if it fails once in awhile.

This is better. Can get a snack after this half inning and probably won't miss anything. Get back for Cozart.

    Homie's on a roll.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Never really sure if we're watching the emergence of Bailey, or a hot streak, but he sure is pitching like a #2 guy (for what that's worth), out-performing everyone outside of Cueto this year. Never seen him more confident than he's been this month.

Bailey really found it on the west coast, and it's carried over to GABP.

And he gets strong in the late innings.

    Pitching great right now.

We're seeing this kid become an ace right before our eyes. Reminds me of Rijo in the second half of 1990. Next thing you know, he'll be saying "it's over."
