According to John Fay, at least. Plan is Arizona League Tuesday and Wednesday, if all goes according to Hoyle this weekend.

Hope everything goes well. He could be huge down the stretch with that fresh arm.

I hope so too. So far everytime he gets started he re-injures something.
When Masset returns, which Reds' pitcher is most expendable/suitable for a trade package for a masher or an OBP outfielder?
Stats, to date:
Pitcher ERA BB SO BA/Against WHIP
Simon 1.46 13 35 0.255 1.32
Chapman 1.61 13 84 0.118 0.69
Cueto 2.28 31 94 0.247 1.16
Arredondo 2.33 23 44 0.200 1.32
Marshall 2.83 8 44 0.281 1.40
Ondrusek 2.86 19 25 0.218 1.33
LeCure 3.48 15 34 0.242 1.34
Bailey 3.74 30 88 0.262 1.27
Arroyo 4.03 19 76 0.275 1.24
Leake 4.25 24 72 0.282 1.32
Latos 4.33 35 106 0.243 1.23
Bray 7.11 10 5 0.263 2.37
Arredondo is also an adventure on the mound. So it LeCure. Bray is oft-injured but probably unmoveable until at least the winter. Same with Masset.
With both Donnie Joseph and JJ Hoover waiting in the wings, I'd love to see the Reds send some relievers elsewhere for a better CF or a really good prospect. Pitching is at a premium and the Reds finally have some. Put it to good use, IMO.
What is Hoyle?
according to Hoyle
according to the rules; in keeping with the way something is normally done. (Alludes to the rules for playing games. Edmond Hoyle wrote a widely used book with rules for card games. This expression is usually used for something other than games.) That's wrong. According to Hoyle, this is the way to do it.

I like our current bullpen. Minus Bray. He scares me. If Nick gets back please do not let him pitch for the first time with the bases loaded and the game on the line. Ease him back.

If it's the 2009 Masset, he can pitch in any spot any time. Even on the first day. He was terrific.
If it's the 2010 Masset, he can pitch in any spot during a good streak. Need to be more cautious in a bad streak. Up and down season, overall good numbers although high walk rate.
If it's the 2011 Masset, I hope he takes his time getting ready because it was, well, an off-year for him. 1.5 plus WHIP. Four walks per nine. 9.7 hits per nine.
I agree the Reds have a good bullpen but I'd take the view that it would be an area of concern without Chapman and his amazing performance. Will Masset help? Depends on which Masset we get.
