Bolsters the Bats pen, and nice LH insurance for the big club. Anychance this portends a move of Aroldis to the rotation with a starter in a deal? I don't think so, just asking.

    Precursor to another deal?

Cincinnati already has three LH on the roster, though, to be fair, one is the closer. They also have another southpaw in AAA that has exceptional numbers and a spot on the 4-man.

I love the idea of a deal involving bullpen arms, as they're going at a premium at the present.

Nice to see Walt getting busy. It's a good Ohman, it could be Wuertz.

Okay, this is a top notch pun. No need to even attempt to better this one.

He has a better career line against lefties than Bray does, though. If Dusty really wants a LOOGY, Ohman might be a better choice than Bray. That said, Ohman does seem quite susceptible to the long ball which is a bad characteristic in GABP.

He has averaged about a strikeout per inning through his career. This year he is 4.4/9. That is a pretty alarming drop.

    Reds Sign Will Ohman
By Zach Links [July 21 at 4:44pm CST]
The Reds have signed left-hander Will Ohman, according to Assistant Director of Media Relations Jamie Ramsey (via Twitter). The 34-year-old will report to Triple-A Louisville.

Ohman was released by the White Sox earlier this month after being designated for assignment. In 26 2/3 innings for Chicago, Ohman posted a 6.41 ERA with 4.4 K/9 and 1.7 BB/9. The veteran likely came to the Reds at a reasonable rate as he will collect on the $2.5MM owed to him on the backend of his two-year deal from the ChiSox.

If Ohman pitches any more than 20 innings for the Reds this year, its a bad omen.
