I think the trade we did with the padres is a "push." A headcase for a headcase.

Neither one prepares themselves mentally to pitch ML baseball. Both have good stuff but not the mental edge.

Volquez is 6-7 and Latos is about to go to 8-3.

Headcase Latos is still better than headcase Volquez.

Records don't mean much. Latos has been lucky to win as much as he has. Volquez adjusted away from Petco may be no better than Mat, but considering we gave up 2 top hitting prospects and a top bullpen prospect, the Padres have the advantage early on.
