Ichiro gets a chance to play in a World Series. I hope they lose in the first round.
Ichiro with 2 HRs in the Bronx tonight vs. the Red Sox. He's put up a .301/.326/.422 slash line for a .747 OPS so far. Not world beating numbers, but much better than he was in Seattle. And with his D and speed, I'd say it's turning out to be a pretty good pickup for the Yanks.
I keep telling myself I'm gonna start a collection of obscure team jerseys of well-known players (you just gotta grab them while the player is active on said team). Ichiro as a Yankee would be right in that wheelhouse...always wanted to grab an Edmonds Reds jersey just for the mind-blowing effect.
While Ichiro has always been a high contact/low walk guy, he now has 1 walk in his first 92 trips to the plate with the Yankees. He is hitting .322/.344/.506 after tonight though, so the production has been there... just not sure you can expect it moving forward to be that way without some slight changes here and there.Originally Posted by cincrazy
