Re: Robert Stephenson being sent to Dayton
The bullpen blew the win for Stephenson, but he had another dominating outling last night. 6IP 2H 1R 0ER 0BB 7K.
Amazingly, a 7 K in 6 IP performance brings his K rate down to 11.48 K/9 (from 11.65). His walk rate tumbled from 3.18 to 2.70 BB/9. His HR rate is down from 0.53 to 0.45 HR/9 and his ERA is down to 4.05 from 4.76 his last start due is large part to his BABIP normalizing a bit more from .386 to .356. He didn't do much to improve his LOB % of 62% since he didn't let many guys get onto base in the first place. His FIP has gone from 2.44 to 2.28.
I won't update this thread after every Stephenson start, but it is amazing to see how his season numbers can be improved so drastically after just two starts. Let's hope Stephenson can keep it up and let's hope nothing funky happens to the Dragons rotation in the next couple weeks so that I (and other local Reds' fans) can catch Stephenson's start on the 23rd when the Reds have an off day.
