Have you noticed how young a lot of these umpires are? Did a bunch of them retire over the past couple of years? I remember when the average age was like 50-55. 1st base ump looks 28.
Not this year...maybe a Wild Card

Jeez, BP looked like he got assassinated at home plate the way he got twisted up.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Hopefully he did hurt himself an awkward swing as Phillips falls on the swing.

I'm starting to beleve that the team that finishes 2nd in the Central between the Reds and Bucs maybe the 1st team to lose a game to the Astros (if that can conceivably happen).

Just for giggles, who leaves the 25 man? Paul? He's done a decent job. Cairo maybe? Drop a pitcher until Votto comes back?

Ludwick has the look of a very confident hitter.

And as I say that Bruce gets nailed trying to swipe second. Why take the bat out of RLs hands there?

the only thing I can think of is your gamble to get in scoring position, if you fail Ludwick leads off the next inning...
