    He wasn't anywhere near the plate with his off speed stuff. Gave up started throwing fastballs, which were crushed.

    Two playable balls that a healthy Phillips would have gobbled up would have drastically changed the outcome of Mike Leake's outing.

    Gotta get a pitcher out when he can't find the plate and is throwing batting practice, too. What a way to bring the home crowd down after a big winning streak.

    Finesse pitchers have these types of games from time to time (see Arroyo, Bronson).
