Oh, my late father-in-law groused about this for years that we sent damaged goods to the Cards. Heck, he might have mentioned that one last time during the visit when he died. I know he said Brandon Phillips should have been thrown out of the league for his actions, until I reminded him that Juan Marichal wasn't thrown out for smacking Johnny Roseboro with a baseball bat, so there was no need to exile BP. Fortunately, his last baseball words to me were from reading one of the books we gave him of interviews with players from the 40's and 50's. He said to me, "Do you remember 'old so & so' ?" [name is elusing me]. He said the toughest batter he ever face was Stan Musial, the toughest pitcher, Ewell Blackwell. He then recounted Blackwell's pitching style and we chatted about that. We butted heads, but we both loved baseball. I'm guessing he's at peace with the Brantley trade now - and Brandon Phillips.

Hopefully Phillips isn't the next one to the DL
Guzman K's.
Great outing by Marshall!
7-6 Reds to the bottom of 8.

Marshall!! He's gearing up for the Broxton addition!
Excellent decision to let Marshall pitch two innings tonight. SD has lots of lefties, Marshall is rested, good move.
He can be really good, can't he?
