Terrible pitch by Bailey. Just awful. Had him 1-2, throw it outside someplace. Or up.

    Just a terrible pitch.

That's why I have maintained that Homer will never be anything more than a 4th or 5th starter. Gives up far too many hits to Bad hitters.

He also has all of about 40 plate appearances. He's a good prospect.

That's the kind of inning that drives fans crazy.

Bottom of the order, guys get on base. Then, luckily, the pitcher is up and bunts. So two outs.

Then ahead in the count on a wild swinging hitter. First base open. No reason in the world to throw it in the strike zone.

Pitching coach should discuss that at bat with Homer and Hanigan.

Homer looks like he's having a hard time with his release point. He may be throwing strikes, but even the strikes aren't where they're intended to go. He's missing his spots with regularity.

The pitch choice on that Marte triple wasn't a problem...it was the execution and location. And it WAS out of the zone...just too high, and Marte likes them away. Away and down, it wouldn't have been a problem.

But when will he learn? He's shown poor judgment in these situations throughout his career. He is all he is going to be.

I don't so much disagree with your assessment of Homer as I do you referring to Marte as a 'bad hitter'.
