Yes the Pirates have had several chances to put this away and this is still only a 2 run game. Pirates have left 9 runners on so far.

Top of the order up. Would be nice to get at least a run back.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

I'd say a six game stretch with a 5 ERA is a bad stretch. Very beginning of the season.

Good play by Harrison on a Cozart ground out.

All this talk about Bailey, injury, fatigue, all this speculation.

All I know is that if he doesn't throw a terrible pitch to Marte, this is a 2-2 ballgame and nobody is agonizing about Bailey.

Fact is that all pitchers, particularly in hot climates, probably fatigued by now and many ballplayers have nagging injuries. We know nothing to indicate that Homer has any meaningful physical problem.

He threw a terrible pitch. I find that annoying in a big game like this, but he's just as likely to throw a good game against the Cubs next time. I chalk it up to an instance of bad pitching.

It's hard not to think that, the way these guys have played since the AS break.

Assume Burnett won't pitch any of the four games against the DBacks. Increases the chance that Arizona will win some of those games, which would be helpful.

Burnett presumably will next pitch against the Padres on Friday night.

AJ Burnett's steps to being a dominate pitcher:

    1. Be a consistent disappointment in multiple cities throughout your career, but still get huge contracts.

    2. Get hit in the face and fracture eye orbital.

    3. ???

    4. Dominate pitcher.

Really missing Votto and Phillips today, especially w/Rolen getting a day off.

I'm not eve sure that was Homer's fault. It looked like he hit the spot Hanny put up for him. I don't know who called that pitch, but it was a bad call...Marte is crowding the plate and can't hit aything inside IMO.
