Redszone is above that WVR. The aversion to this is what has made this board so great. Great discussion, tempered with reality. NOT singling you out at all.

A NL team that can lead the whole MLB in RS...is pretty rare since 1977.

Everyone says it's the DH...I say it was the expansion draft of 1977 in the AL that helped bring scoring up higher than the NL.

Sweet.. that's going to be a great surprise for him ..
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

I agree totally, but you have to consider the DH factor. The expansion draft was a factor, but not as much as the DH. Take out one man (the lowly pitchetr) in the equation and you get much more scoring. It should be done away with and I've heard lately that old Bud is considering that...or adding it to the National League, which really is something I am against.

VBR, that's what everyone says, or attempts to say, but the truth is, we are all fans with emotional ups and downs. If ther is no emotion in baseball it would be a very boring world. I love the new discussion that includes OBP, OPS, and BABIP. It has given me a whole new outlook on baseball, but I consider the emotion of the game, which is what gives the game the lasting impression on us from the time we are young and playing and when we get old and watch the games. This attitude that you don't know anything unless you can speak SABR at every turn is frankly annoying. Like team chemistry, there are a lot of things that can't be attributed to statistics, although baseball is statistics drivern more than any other sport. If we were to take out the emotions, the ups and downs of following a team, we have put baseball into the dimension of being like the Stepford Wives. Emotions are a very important part of life. Sure, the Reds will be okay. We all know that, but in the moment, we all have that feeling that things are about to blow up whether good or bad. Expressing that seems to be what people hate (and I wonder if everyone doesn't have the same emotions, but cover it up just to be fashionable--just wondering). Regardless, I get your point, but I have a hard time understanding this stoic thing that many want. Call me old, and I am, but baseball is enjoyable to me because it includes emotion. Long season, marathon instead of a sprint or whatever your stance, each game is important. If the Reds fall short by one game this fall, maybe it was this game. Or another.

That's the reason I have stayed here for all these years. Best baseball discussions, by far, on the Internet.
