Did anyone think the Reds would not come back down to earth? If they play .500 ball the rest of the way from their mark of 25 over they win 94 games.

What's their record in those games? 7-3?

I'd it's not even so much that, as much as it is the Pirates are apparently still hot. We're 'coming back to Earth' but they're not?

Diamondbacks dodge a no out bases loaded situation and only give up a run. Pirates up 4-3 top of 8.

No but I think many of us were worried about the offense even during that streak. I understand it might not have been worth the price to make a big upgrade at the deadline but the glaring holes this team had April-Mid July are still there now.

Problem is that the Pirates have had unbelievable pitching at home. They are facing good competition this homestand, at least the four game series v. DBacks and Dodgers, but they are very tough at home.

Reds are on the road at the same time.

Hopefully Reds can have a decent homestand and stay in front.

    Impressive inning for Cueto.
