    Friday 8/10/12 Minor-League Updates

Looks like it's going to be a long night--or a very short one--in Lansing. The Dragons and Lugs are scheduled to play two, but the first is suspended in the top of the third, tied 2-2.

Yorman is 2-2. Jacob Johnson is off to another rough start.

Hard to believe, I know, but Billy Hamilton walked to lead off the bottom of the first and stole second.

    Edit: And third.

That's 18 steals in the last 9 games.

And puts him at 135. (Coleman's record is 145.)

Sure, Billy had two stolen bases, but the real news in the stolen base department is that Kyle Lotzkar had two steals. And they weren't even on double steals.

Man, that's enough to make a catcher consider a new line of work.

Trailing 3-0 entering the top of the fifth, the Canines of the Cactus score two of their own on a walk to Jonathan Reynoso, a single by Brayan Arias, an RBI GO by catcher Josh Kennelly and an RBI single by Jose Valdelamar.

Brent Peterson has added two singles and Adam Matthews one. Tanner Rahier, Peterson and Reynoso have also walked. The lowecase A's scored again in the bottom of the fifth and lead 4-2.

Jose Williams started and allowed 3 runs on five hits and 3 BB's (n K's). Jonathan Perez followed with the strange line of one earned run on no hits, no walks and one K.

Am convinced that the Wahoos dont want to play for an extra two weeks. They rather go sweat in the Arizona sun for Instructs.

The top of the sixth was a big inning for the Lil Reds.

Jhimmy Lopez walked, Jonathan Reynoso singled. Arias reached and Lopez scored on an IF error, Reynoso stole home on the frontend of a double steal with Arias taking second. Josh Kennelly walked and Arias came home on a Valdelamar singler. Peterson was HBP, the Rahier plated the last run of the inning with a SacFly.

The four-run inning put them up 6-4 and that's the way it stands going to the top of the ninth.
