The timing of all these health issues is devastating. I just hope the club can weather this storm and make the playoffs.

I think it's more baffling not just that the Cubs took out Wood, but that they brought in a lefty to pitch against Stubbs-Phillips-Ludwick.

He not only cannot guess correctly, although he is not Guess bad like Stubbs....but he has no ability to protect the plate, like Stubbs.

Is he not supposed to hit LHP? Nice hitting he did for 2 weeks......now that the heat is off and no trade....he can go back to being terrible, IMO.

A guy with his speed cannot even hit a double.

Ludwick and Frazier....not exactly who I expected to carry us through stretches.

Ludwick was the guy I trusted most to come up with that kind of hit (although Frazier has been giving him a run for his money).

That said, I renew my question: what were the Cubs thinking bringing in a lefty in the part of the order that hits lefties the best?

I cannot figure this team out. Are they good or not? Do they play with good fundamentals? They do one minute and stupid the next.
