I am worried about this series. At the end of the broadcast Sunday it was mentioned Goerge Grande would be doing this series. I doesn't seem like he has announced a winning Reds game this season.

I can't figure this out. With five announcers (Thom, Marty, Chris, The Cowboy, and Kelch), where is there room for George and why? I listened to Charlie Steiner call the Dodger-Pirates game last night and parts of the White Sox game on TV. IN both cases, the announcer was a homer, but professional. George is, at best, a baseball fan, who gives credit for the opposition's great feats. Something I do not want to hear when I'm rooting for the Reds, I guess the ownership likes him, but I'd just as soon he went away to the retirement home, which is what I thought was going to happen. Yes, we have Marty, but not so much anymore, but there hasn't been a time he wasn't rooting for the Reds. Just like Vince Scully, you know who's side Marty is on. I never know with George...

I really wish they would retroactively DL Rolen. Going without a player for a few days is one thing, but going shorthanded when you are already running with a skeleton crew is tough. The Reds like to let a guy linger day-to-day long enough that they would almost be done with a DL stint when they are ready to return.

Is it totally a 40 roster situation?
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

I doubt it. Several AAA infielders are on the 40 man. No reason not to pull one of them up for two weeks.

I doubt Rolen will be out much longer. If they expect him to be out much more, I do think the Reds would have DL'd him. Maybe he can pinch hit tonight.

Henry Rodriguez has been slumping at AAA, I don't know the Reds have a natural replacement for third base. They could add a first baseman and play Frazier at third. Reds may prefer Valdez at third because of defense.

With RADickey tomorrow, Reds certainly could use this first game. Third game they face rookie Harvey, good stuff, mixed results so far. Lot of Ks, lot of walks.

For tomorrow, against Dickey, I'd guess Xavier Paul will play for Ludwick; as will Cairo instead of Valdez. I'd also guess Stubbs will sit for Heisey.

The lefty brigade. Latos fares better against righties, although he's been tough on everyone lately. Overall Latos has some trouble with lefties.

Mets with a lefty hitting team, that should help Homer B on Thursday, Homer has been excellent against lefties this year.

hopefully because its a collection of mediocre/bad lefty hitters, Latos will be in charge.

The bad news: Valdez is playing

The good news: he's not hitting second.

    At least it's progress. Maybe.

I still think Rolen should be DL'd and Overbay signed to play 1st for a week.
