I think we were up 5.5 games on them nine games ago, so if I'm right, we gained a half game. Point taken, though, to gain ground following a five game skid is very impressive.

Funny thing is, all the Pirates fans lamenting the Reds weren't gonna keep it up... didn't consider that the Pirates were due for a slump too.

    Huge for Jay.....wow.

Pitching and defense keeps putting them in position to win. Love it.

they won the last game of the series, to be 4 1/2 games out. After tonight we are 6 ahead so 1 1/2 games.... they got as close as 2 1/2 games.

Cards quietly doing what the cardinals do. Pirates doing what they do. Just keep winning Reds....

Got it...didn't realize you were comparing it to the low point during the skid...thought you meant where things stood literally nine games ago.

Is it just me, or does every game George Grande announce end up in a walkoff home run?

Yeah. I always wonder if these hitters read the scouting reports on THEMSELVES. Bruce has always tried to pull everything.

I loved seeing him go with the pitch and take it to LF. He's strong enough to hit it hard the opposite way too.

As for scouting report. I actually see them pitch him inside more than outside. That off speed pitch just inside always seems to strike him out.

Reds crowd was great in the 9th innning. Looked like no one left the lower level and they were loud. Loud enough to snuff out the curse of the hat tippin' George Grande.

In the last 40 calendar days the Reds have lost eight games (July 5 - August 14)

    26-8 record

Being 4-0 while at Myrtle Beach, I'm thinking of staying and seeing what happens. Of course my staff would revolt and I wouldn't get any paychecks, but...

Reds up by 6 on the Bucs and 7 over the Cards.

The game thread reminds me of Brantley a few years ago when he said Edwin wasn't clutch. Then Edwin hit a walk off home run
