I wouldn't mind Ondrusek staying down there.
Well it at least establishes the pecking order in some sense.
Why? It's not really that shocking. As I said in the game thread yesterday, Alfredo Simon's usage had nothing to do with being thought of as less than a pitcher, but he was more suited to go longer innings than Ondrusek.
Ondrusek made the most sense. I don't know why this is shocking.

I thought it would be Lecure myself.
You have to go with 24 men during suspension.
They had to add a catcher since Mes is out.
So they will go with 11 pitchers for awhile, since they can only have a 24 man squad.
Logan probably deserved it, but as indicated move was made IMO because of the suspension.
Edited in light of earlier posts.

2 game suspension for Mes.
Ondrusek can't return for 10 days unless there's an injury. So I wonder what the move will be in a couple of days when Mesoraco returns.
Masset, perhaps?

Logan's 10 days will be up on August 31 meaning he will still be playoff elegible should they decide to go that route.
Me personally? I don't want him anywhere near the playoff roster.

While I missed the initial post, my error, the calculus is (I think) as follows:
Reds can't replace Mes, need to go with 24 men. Rather than have no backup catcher they had to bring up Navarro. But still can only have 24.
So they moved a pitcher, Logan, who I believe pitched 2 innings yesterday and has been ineffective.
Unless I'm wrong, I agree with Brutus that Logan is now down for 10 days.
So we'll see Hoover or Masset or Bray back when the suspension is over.
Logan's 10-day stay ends on 8/31. Will be interesting to see if he returns then or after rosters expand in September.
The only exception to Logan having to stay down for 10 days would be if a player went on the DL he could come up earlier to take that spot but otherwise he would be down for 10 days. I have not heard much about Masset recently. I would think he has to be getting close if he is going to come back this year at all.
