Screwed how? Sizeable lead and won't need a 5th in the playoffs.

I remember when we had four versions of this guy in our starting rotation.

It's only the 2nd inning, maybe he'll get into a rhythm. He's actually gotten a few nice swing and misses on breaking balls, so there is SOME promise. We'll see...

Of course, at his current rate he'll be at 100 pitches after the 4th.

Redmond even kinda physically LOOKS like some of those past pitchers.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Not really. There's six weeks left in the season. There's 40 games after this (well, 41 to be exact). That's only eight more starts left for a fifth starter even if it happened tomorrow. I wouldn't like to see someone go down, but we're late enough in the season the Reds could get by with a weak link at the end of the rotation.

I'm going to assume the Reds will need several more of those before the night is over (no offense to Mr. Redmond).
