Only game this year in which Ondrusek is giving up hits in the 8th and no one is screaming for him to get yanked two batters ago.

Well, at least we won't have to suffer the humiliation of getting no-hit by Halladay in the post-season this year.

Look at Ondrusek month by month. His April was great. Ever since, not great. Now in August, he has given up runs in 4 of 7 outings.

Phils announcers thrilled with the team's offense tonight, calling it the best offensive Phils performance of the year.

Reds have a tough ten games starting tonight, one or two starters beyond Cueto and Latos need to come through. The team will be fine if it gets three or four good starting outings each time through the rotation.

Bailey has struggled lately, but he's better on the road, and may be ready for a good streak. Arroyo is a tough pro. Leake, well, let's chalk tonight up to just an off night. A very off night.

Big hand for Wilson Valdez in Philadelphia. Good for him. Phils announcers joking about Valdez' pitching last season.

Oh come on, Kal, that's Centerfield without question!

Counts the same as an 0-1 loss. I had this game chalked up as a loss in the pitching matchup itself. Hurts that we hit Halladay for five, but I never really expected to win this game. I feel a heck of a lot better about tomorrow.

Scott Rolen: 126 OPS+ with Gold Glove defense as a Phillie. Booed during every at-bat. Wilson Valdez: 76 OPS+. Standing ovation upon return.

I thought this was fitting being that the Reds were in Philly.

No team wins them all, so this is one we won't. Gotta find a way to win two.

Just found out this is the most runs the Reds have allowed in a game all year.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

I think Baker will give his team some stern words after this game.

Not because they lost. But Dusty probably will reject this bit about constantly losing in Philly.

We'll never know and I'm just guessing, but in this year I don't see Dusty easily abiding the idea of constant losses in any stadium, to any team.
