I'm really glad to see them doing well, especially Janish. He was being wasted in AAA. It's nice to see trades work out for both teams.

How did Todd Redmond work out for the Reds?
A summer watching a bad Reds' team, is still a pretty good summer.

I guess I'm missing something: how have these trades worked out for the Reds? Braves have two guys playing regularly and we've got...... What exactly have we got?

Granted, despite his talent, Francisco might have been addition by subtraction.

Of course one start doesn't determine the worth of a pitcher. However, I am not sure how one very mediocre start can be used as the basis for saying the trade worked out for both teams. Also, we have Valdez. IMO Janish is the better ball player.

One start was enough for me as far as Redmond was concerned. Would take Janish over Valdez in a heartbeat.

That's how it worked out. Francisco cleared the way for Frazier who is a much better player. Janish wasn't on the major league club and we got a possible starter.

It shows how good the Reds truly are, to be be able to trade two guys that start on a playoff contender and not feel any falloff is amazing.

Plus, from the way it appears, Frazier is a huge part of the clubhouse chemistry, and Franciso was not- overweight and not a big worker. Considering how desperate we were (are) for another lefthanded hitter, the fact that they were willing to dump Francisco says a lot.

With Cozart, Rolen and Frazier what need would we have for Janish and Fransisco? They would both be in AAA right now.

Given, Fransisco would have been nice to have when Rolen went down. We could've used Frazier at first for Votto and Fransisco at third. But hindsight is 20/20.

Re: Thank you for Janish and Fransico

Trading Francisco was imperative to open the door for Frazier. And JJ did a good job while he was here. I expect him back one day. JF was handed the keys numerous times and couldn't figure it out.

We won't know any thing about Redmond until he has a chance to prove himself. But Janish didn't have anywhere to play. He was give plenty of chances and couldn't solidify his position on this team. That's on him. Sometimes it takes being traded for a guy to step it up.

I have to assume that Valdez runs better, bunts better and can play more positions. If not it's really a wash between the two.

Regardless, you are welcome, and can have them both. My days of watching them are thankfully over. You can have Ross as well.

I do wish them all well though...
