    Nice piece on Cueto

    http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/po...national-radar

Excellent control, a deceptive delivery, the ability to keep the ball in the ballpark and on the ground, a great work ethic: These are the ingredients of an ace, no? Even better, Cueto is just 26, with room for improvement. That’s not too bad considering he’s already one of the best pitchers in the majors.

The question now is: When will America notice?

    Re: Nice piece on Cueto

Nice to see Cueto get a little attention but I rather enjoy the Reds flying pretty far under the radar this year as far as national news. It keeps the pressure and stress off them as they head into the home stretch of the season and into what could be an awesome post season.
"I tried to play golf, but I found out I wasn't very good." -Joey Votto on his offseason hobby search

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

I agree with Heather. Let those major market teams monopolize the headlines...we'll quietly work our way to the WS thankyouverymuch. :O)
    2014 predictions:
99-63 WS champs (Cards take 2nd WC, Mil 3rd, Pit 4th, Chi 5th)
Bruce/Votto neck and neck MVP race (neither takes it)
    Bailey CYA winner
    Hamilton ROY & GG

I think the lack of recognition is keeping Cueto inspired. I know he was unhappy about LaRuse snubbing him for the All-Star game, and I think he uses that to fuel the fire a bit.

Yeah he's a super competitive guy and it's what makes him so good.

His run support has been terrible this year, it's a shame, but I hope that factors into things as well.
