    Odd AL Schedule Quirk

I noticed that on Sunday, neither Oakland or Tampa Bay play as they both have an off day. I can never remember seeing that on a Sunday other then a rain out.

    Anyone know how this happened?
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

I wonder if it had anything to do with the Japan series that Oakland participated in?

Maybe it has to do with the GOP convention

I bet they're honoring the Sabbath.

MLB secretly set that date to officially contract them and were hoping nobody would notice.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

But why would Oakland and the Rays take a day off to honor C.C.?

Two excellent responses in a row by CySeymour and MrCinatit. I got a good laugh out of both of those posts.

Looks like you are correct, although why schedule Tampa Bay to play a home game that weekend at all?
