"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."
1-2-3 first inning for Cueto.
Never been busier with work and studies, yet I can't pull myself away from streaming the Reds game while I do both. What a season.
Chris and Kelch discussing Mes' ability to be on the post-season roster. With due respect to them, I don't agree with their statement of the rules on this.
My understanding in the past was always that if you were active prior to August 31 at any point, you were eligible. But ever since I've seen the actual rule itself, I just don't read it that way. It seems you have to be active or on a DL as of August 31 at midnight. I'd like to see this confusion cleared up as all of the Reds' beat guys and announcers seem to be saying Mesoraco would be eligible. I just don't think that's the case.
"No matter how good you are, you're going to lose one-third of your games. No matter how bad you are you're going to win one-third of your games. It's the other third that makes the difference." ~Tommy Lasorda
