Nice point.....BABIP has flaws for sure...so many factors. To me any player that hits the ball where it's pitched should carry a higher BABIP. Almost every Cardinal hitter does that. The Reds are often pull happy with a good portion of their lineup.

Hit it hard where it's pitched is a more successful approach than hit my picture on the scoreboard.

Tough luck my friend....that's how it is.

If people honestly think everything is luck in a sport why bother watching? I certainly wouldn't.

    Agreed.

Can you believe how lucky Larkin was? So lucky they voted him into the HOF.

Rolen clearly lucky that Beltran didn't go for that ball harder.

So, using this logic, some players are just more lucky more often than others?

Yes that's how the game works its hitting a round ball with a round bat and 8 guys spread around over a wide space. Even the best players who make sold hard contact consistently have runs of poor and good luck.

Lecure was definitely luckier than Schumaker on that at-bat. I hope he is luckier than Furcal as well.
    Nope. Furcal was luckier.

So no player is more talented than another...just luckier.

I never said they didn't have players without more talent, but luck is still a major factor in baseball even for those talented players.

So under this theory Joey Votto is just luckier than Miguel Cairo?
