Wow! Ball four was a foot off the plate and Heisey takes it to right for a hit. AWESOME!

could have used a run there for breathing room

He wouldn't burn an option next year if he's not added to the 40-man roster this year. He has another year before he is exposed to the Rule 5 draft, so if the Reds don't call him up this year, they could keep him in the minors to start next season and not use an option. The only time an option is used is if you spend at least 20 days in the minors when you're on the 40-man roster.

The only thing that would happen if the Reds call him up this year is that he'd have his 3-year option clock begin, which means they have 3 calendar years left from the time he reports until they have to expose him to waivers before optioning him.

You were complaining earlier about Heisey needing to swing at strikes instead of balls.

    You just being sarcastic now?

We're not that lucky. Now we have to hope Cueto blanks them this inning.

Maybe - another question is whether to PH for Cueto at the start of the seventh. He's sitting at 79 right now, might depend on the count at the end of the inning.

Just another dumb question. Do you have to be on the 40 to get called up at the end of the season? Like others, I've never paid attention to this.

No way. Should be facing the bottom of the order, if this inning goes well.

My hope here is for Cueto to make it through 7, then turn it over to Hoover in the 8th and Chapman in the 9th.

No chance I'd do it. Don't think Dusty will either unless as you say Cueto has a rough inning.
