    Cingrani call-up

Seems a curious move to me.

Any chance he sees post-season action?

And who doesn't make the roster if he does?

He can't play in the post season because he was not on the roster by Aug 31st.

unless a pitcher in the roster at Aug 31 is DL'd later. In this case, a replacement pitcher can be then take the injured pitcher's place.

Unless there is an injury and the injured player is out for the playoffs. Must be on disabled list. So there is always a chance.

Dusty said he won't be playing these guys to much anyway since we are trying to win as many games as we can for #1 seed

But he will use them as pinch-hitters in the 7th and 8th innings the rest of the way while the resting starters and Heisey remain on the bench.....he's already done it twice.

I think it depends on how the race shapes up. If we can clinch early, I bet he gets a start or 2 to push back our normal starters. If the race gets closer, not so much.

    not true

the Reds can claim he is taking the slot of someone on the 60 day DL and get him to the post season

They did it with Billy Bates in 1990
