5-1 Astros on Green solo HR, a real GABP special.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

4-1 St. Louis in the second inning. Magic number going nowhere today.

Welcome to the big leagues kid...more to the point, welcome to Great American Small Park. That thing barely cleared the wall and it looked almost like a check swing.

Luckily, the Bucs and Cards are not doing well, so the lead has stayed strong. Reds 3-4 in September, scoring 21 runs, allowing 27 so far. Cueto In his two starts has allowed 8 runs in 11 innings and 17 hits With an ERA of 6.54. Scary.

Nice to see the HR didn't shake the kid up. He does all the simple things a good pitcher does. Works low in the zone, works quickly, throws strikes early to get ahead, etc. Looks really good for a kid from last year's draft. He does this quirky thing with his shoulders before every pitch...he dips one shoulder and then the other quickly like he's trying to keep his shoulders loose. Not that it matters, just an observation.

Oh yeah, 4 Ks in 2 innings! Hope he keeps that up.

Congrats to Gregorious, his first ML hit.

They brought in their LOOGY (Wright) one batter early.

Reds are looking at a 3-5 start to September if they lose this game, which would include 3 losses to Houston. The big lead is nice, but they have got to be better than this.

It seems like its been awhile since Frazier or Ludwick have homered.

They barely showed up in Sept of 2010 as well. Are they pacing themselves? Relaxing now that Votto is back so he can carry them?

Not real sure that Cueto understands how hard it is nowadays to win 20 games.

Just really confused as to why they are going through the motions.

Ludwick hasn't homered since that 2 HR game against the Cubs a few weeks back. Only 1 double in that time as well. Oddly though he's still been hitting a lot of singles.
