You just listen to the ball and bat come together.

    They make an awful noise.

If you let something like this ruin your experience at the game, then the problem is you, not them.

I bet you would think differently if they were directly behind you in the stands howling all night long.

Have been. Didn't give it much thought. I was too busy enjoying the game with my family.

Absolutely true. Experienced it. It stinks for people that are really into the actual game. There is no problem with me or my 15 year old son.

Treat it like any other loutish behavior. You do it in the presence of a Reds employee and security personnel remove you from the premises.

Are you really proposing that we regulate the sounds people make at a game?

Put it this way. If the sound the fans were making was a profane chant, we wouldn't even be having this discussion. That would be offensive to everybody. So yes, I am proposing that.

Read the fine print on your ticket the next time you go to a Reds game. I bet there's language in there that allows the Reds to do this.

It's not even an old vs. young thing.

Much more an IQ point thing, with the howlers on the short end.

    Re: The Howl

Obscenities are one thing, people making a stupid noise is something else entirely. If you don't see that, then there's no point in continuing this debate.

Live your life, enjoy the game, enjoy the time spent with the people you came to the game with. Don't let a stupid noise coming out of someone's mouth ruin your experience.

Agree to disagree. This is more thought than I've ever given to people making a "whooo" sound in my life.

    LOL, now it's offensive.

"Did you hear that, honey?! That wooing man just mocked my cultural heritage with the shrill, nonsensical sound he made!"

Now I don't think folks should be tossed for doing it, but I hardly see anything about it that is charming or remotely part of the game experience, it certainly is not part of the sounds of the ball park that I like to hear during the game.

It's goofy and noisy which is fine in small doses, but probably really annoying in fire hose quantities.

Frankly I don't care if it stays or goes, I live in Oregon

Someone had this sign on the "Reds LIVE" pre-game show coming back from a commercial break on TV a few minutes ago. Sorry for the not so good picture. Woooooo

guess nobody here has found themselves on-stage tangled up in a suggestive trio having to compete for the attention of a starlet. Nothing in the oxford dictionary that says " I am so down for this" like a well practiced WOOOO!
