All I have to say is... MAKE IT STOP!!!
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Like I told my youngest when her older sister pestered her mercilessly. Ignore her and she'll go away.

I think the more it gets discussed, the longer it continues. The fans who are doing it love the attention it gets. Ignore them and it'll eventually go away.

People are doing "The Howl" in the top of the 13th following the Reds surrendering the lead.

It's official: If you like the "Woo" you are in league with some of the dumbest people in the tri-state area.

Thank you for making this post. Seriously. I almost never read game threads and had no idea the Reds were still playing a game at this hour. I tuned in just in time to see a very cool walkoff win.

Still don't like the "Woo," though.

    Re: The Howl

I never noticed the howl until last night's game. I guess with all the extra innings and only a handful of fans left, the stadium was quiet enough for me to hear it.

    It is annoying.

I prefer getting Proctor and Gamble to sponsor, bar of soap in a tube sock night, called "Smack the woo out of people". Anybody caught doing the woo, is officially running the risk of getting a besocked bar of ivory to the face.
Hugs, smiling, and interactive Twitter accounts, don't mean winning baseball. Until this community understands that we are cursed to relive the madness.

    Re: The Howl

There was a point i thought Thom Brennaman was going to go off during his call. I could almost hear his anger boiling inside him about this "wooooooo" that was drowning all the intensity and importance of the at bats from a viewer's point of view.

I turned my tv down it was so frickin' annoying. Stop wooooing... stop the madness.

    Re: The Howl

Late in the evening, when the stadium is nearly empty...I've got ZERO problem with the howl then. If you're one of the few that stuck around...do what you want. Have fun.

It's in the early innings when it's done for absolutely no reason what so ever that irritates me.

Okay, now that's just freaking funny as hell.
