    Camera Angles

Tonight the camera angle is behind the pitcher and makes the view on balls and strikes so much clearer. Other telecasts now feature this pitch by pitch camera position, and it is so much better. You can not only see inside/outside much more clearly from home, but you also get a better view of movement on pitches.

Yet, the Reds telecast has historically always used the off-center over the right shoulder center field camera, and it is frustrating. I wonder why the Reds choose this inferior position?

    Re: Camera Angles

I prefer the straight angle from dead center too. I think the problem could be the batter's eye areas in centerfield in most ballparks that don't have any places to put a cameraman and his gear. Plus, in order to get the straight-on view you have to get high enough that the view of the play is not blocked by the pitcher. With our normal off-center view it makes it hard to judge whether pitches are inside or outside or over the plate. If you take the straight-on but higher camera angle it might make it hard to see whether a pitch is too high or too low.
We need two new team owners in our two Redszone-based fantasy baseball leagues. Both are free 5x5 roto dynasty leagues hosted on Yahoo. Both leagues are 9-10 years old. We have a great bunch of guys but two owners have gone off the grid. If you are interested in joining a fun dynasty league with other members of Redszone please let me know!
