Interesting stats with 15 games left

6 teams in the NL have a winning record in 1-run games:

    ATL 23-11
    SFG 29-19
    Cin 27-19
    WSN 27-20
    SDP 23-19
    LAD 27-25

4 teams in the NL have had averaged giving up less than 4 runs per game:

    WSN 3.6
    CIN 3.7
    LAD 3.8
    ATL 3.9

7 teams in the NL have averaged scoring more runs per game than the Reds:

    MIL 4.8
    STL 4.7
    COL 4.7
    WSN 4.5
    SFG 4.4
    ATL 4.4
    ARI 4.4
    CIN 4.3

I'm surprised San Fran's offense was able to score more runs on average than the Reds.

Luckily you can't lose a game by 1/10th of a run.

    Interesting fo sho.

Re: San Fran ... they did have Melky for most of the season, plus they have Buster Posey, Sandoval and a couple other good hitters. But yeah, never would have guessed that entering the season.

Then again, I never would have guessed the Reds would have the second-lowest team ERA in all of baseball. Definitely the best overall team pitching most of us have ever seen from a Reds team. And it's not even close.

Melky is no longer with them, and Panda has fallen off the rails as well. Though, post all-star, they are averaging 5 runs per game
