Re: 9/18/12 - Reds at Cubs

He pitched well in that game in 2010, but he didn't start it. Not to insinuate he wouldn't have pitched well if he did, but I think there is a notable difference in starting a game and coming in when your team is already behind.

That being said, I'd feel comfortable giving Homer the ball in the postseason this year. Especially on the road.

He's at 95 pitches and throwing harder than he was in the early innings. Unless he asks to be removed, I'd leave him in.

Homer squeezed, keeps his composure, gets the batter on a grounder. Nice pitching.

It's pretty cool to be in a position where we don't really care in the Cards win or not...A lot of teams are in a dog fight every night...

With that being said, it is hard to turn "on" that intensity when you need it. Maybe there is an advantage of playing meaningful games in late September..I hope we can turn in "on" in October. I got faith!

Dusty needs to think about October and not a complete game for Bailey.

Base hit for Barney with one out. LeHair pinch hitting. Lefty, with DeJesus also a lefty next.

Homer needs to get this guy or he's coming out.
