Report: Time Warner Finally Gets NFL Network!

Good news for cable sports fans

It's about time. Looks like they may announce something today or tomorrow:

According to one of the people, NFL Network will be placed on Time Warner’s digital basic tier, while RedZone will join the carrier’s Sports Pass, which includes NHL Network and Tennis Channel.

Seriously, I've been considering such a move myself and the lack of NFL Network was a huge reason. I think the fact that there are more and more options like FiOptics that offer NFLN placed a big role in this deal getting done. The NFL just got a lot richer but oh well...

This long overdue news nonetheless makes me happy.

The Thursday night games every week had to be the tipping point.

And it's good for Insight customers as well, since the NFLN was pulled off of Insight back on July 31st, after TWC bought them

Anyone that is serious about switching to fioptics might want to look at the packages that include Direct TV instead of the IPTV they are installing now.
We never had a problem with our fioptics package until we moved across the street and they told us new installations are getting the IPTV instead of the regular cable setup.
Now our boxes are always freezing to go along with a awful slow menu.

Also if anyone does get the IPTV you will probably have to upgrade the internet part of your package since it uses your internet bandwidth, which is something we didn't know until after they installed it.

Of course they would add it the season after I finally switched from Time Warner. I'm still not upset about the switch though. I still like DirecTV 100X better than TW.

NFLN is on the air on Time Warner, at least in the Cincinnati area. Channel 346 digital, 1346 HD.

Good deal, even if I only have my TWC for a few more days. I'm moving Tuesday and will be without TV and internet until Saturday (the horror!) when my FiOptics is installed.

CTA513, thanks for the info...I'll be curious to see whether I have RF or IPTV, though I am going with one of the higher speeds so IPTV might work ok for me.

I'd rather listen to Kelch read the phone book than suffer through Thom Brennaman's attempt to make every instance on the field the most important event since the discovery of manned space flight. -westofyou
