Preview of Pete Rose 30 for 30

How, then, are those people of the future—who are taking steroids every day—going to look back on baseball players who used steroids? They're going to look back on them as pioneers. They're going to look back at it and say "So what?" - Bill James, Cooperstown and the 'Roids

Not only was my link not timely, but it's not really a "preview" either. It's a 7-minute short film and quite good. They're bringing it back because they just released a movie about Arnold Schwarzenegger:

That is just a short. There is no actual 30 for 30 film on Rose as far as I know. In addition to the regular 30 for 30 films they are also making some short films like the Rose film. It gives them a chance to cover some subjects with just short films where in some cases they may not feel there is enough material for a full length film.

The 30 for 30 films are coming back to ESPN though. There is going to be a new 30 for 30 movie on ESPN every Tuesday night starting next Tuesday (10/2).

I would think Rose should have enough material for a full length film. I wonder why they opted for a short film for him?

Re: Preview of Pete Rose 30 for 30

Of all the things I've seen posted about Pete through the years, this comes the closest to describing the meetings I've had with him. He's not evil, he's not an ass, he's not the bad guy he's made out to be...he's just an average guy with a passion. He's fun-loving, hard-working and does whatever it takes to get the job done. Does he have faults, absolutely, who doesn't. But I'll still go to my grave remembering Pete as my all-time favorite baseball player and Red.

    Thanks for posting that Chili.
