The Indians are a complete mess. If you are a sports fan living in Cleveland, my condolences.

    fixed for my thoughts
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Don't understand the firing with six games to go. Early speculation is Francona...naturally.

Francona would be crazy to take that job. I think he could have his choice of jobs that open up. I don't think it's far fetched to see him in Cincy next year, I think Dusty's going to ride off into the sunset.

Manny Acta seems like a decent manager. With all of the mistakes that front office has made over the past few years, coupled with key injuries, that was an absolute no win at the Mistake by the Lake. Acta is probably thrilled he doesn't have to be exposed to another Browns game.

He's a great baseball mind who may not have the temperament for being the person in charge when adversity hits. He made a bad situation worse in Washington too.

They were 5-24 in August and have more talent than that.
How, then, are those people of the future—who are taking steroids every day—going to look back on baseball players who used steroids? They're going to look back on them as pioneers. They're going to look back at it and say "So what?" - Bill James, Cooperstown and the 'Roids
