Even without this game, Homer has been very solid this year. His best season so far, I'd say and now with some nice icing on the cake!

BTW, I said he needed just 5 innings to reach 200 for the season, he got 9 to give him 204.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

He still has to do something about that 5+ ERA at home. Great pitchers pitch great no matter where they pitch. That's why it's fair to say he hasn't yet put it all together.

Nonetheless, games like tonight show he has the talent. He just has to harness it consistently.

I was so nervous that I felt like I was going to barf during that last inning.

    What a season.

Congrats to Homer -- few scale that mountain.

Tom Browning's perfect game was on TV - whole family was in the living room watching that game!

    Congrats, Homer!
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

Tremendous game for Bailey, hung right in there in the ninth inning. Very happy for him.

(He still had a lousy spring training, LOL.)
