Quite ninth inning. Throw from right field gets Tabata. Incredible ending here.

Wild pick-off Tabata out at 3rd.

Wow. What a dumb move. Wild pick-off, but Valdez picks it up and nails him at third.
    2014 predictions:
99-63 WS champs (Cards take 2nd WC, Mil 3rd, Pit 4th, Chi 5th)
Bruce/Votto neck and neck MVP race (neither takes it)
    Bailey CYA winner
    Hamilton ROY & GG

    He's 1-0 as a pitcher.

Interesting spot. Do you try to win with another pitcher who is not rusty? Do you stick with Aroldis, win or lose, and get him the work.

I think you stick with Aroldis.

When you're giving up hits to Barajas, you know you don't have it that day.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

I win. This doesn't seem like rust. This is more like his bad outings where he doesn't have his velocity or control.

Apparently the Reds are willing to lose this game...
