This just means they are due to break out of it at the perfect time, when the playoffs start.

All I want is two more RBI's for Jay Bruce. Then all will be right with the world.

If he gets on one of his hot streaks, they might not lose a game.

IMO, part of the reason is that Ludwick is being rested to get 100% ready for the playoffs.

Without Ludwick, we are running out the "no legit RH cleanup hitter" lineup.
Also, the other starters have been resting as well.. Plenty of Cairo and Valdez at bats lately. I'm not criticizing the Reds, just saying that they haven't exactly been trotting out the "A" lineup lately.
Thank you Walt and Bob for going for it in 2010-2014!

Me afraid we'll be talking offseason trades and moves sooner than later. I hope not.

    And yet, three wins.

I'm starting to think that pitching's a big part of baseball.

2nd year in a row he cannot get to 100 RBI's..... Yes, please spear me the RBI doe snot mean anything retort...... 100 RBI's is still nice to have. The fact that he doe snot shows how inconsistent he has been, beacuse he has had the opportunities to do it way more than not.

Also why cherry pick 2 of the three Brewers games instead of including the whole series? 7 games, 15 runs, 4 wins, 2 series victories just doesn't have the same impact I guess.

It is a little frightening on the surface, there's no denying that. Especially if the Reds had to begin on the road in San Francisco.

But I like the way the lineup has been structured as of late with Stubbs lower in the lineup. Would still like Votto to bat 2nd in the playoffs, but that's not going to happen.

I think the offense should be okay in the playoffs.

I'm OK with 11 runs in 6 games if the other team scored 5 or fewer runs in those same contests.

    Re: 6 games, 11 runs.

I'm still concerned that this is more than a mini-slump. The Reds have been one of the worst teams offensively during the entire month of September. I really don't want to downplay the fact that they clinched but it seems as though it's been pitching that's carried them for the past month.

For September, the Reds have scored the FEWEST runs in MLB. BA is 26th, and OPS is next to LAST. Sorry guys...this is simply a team with no momentum going into the post-season.

I hope they prove me wrong and turn it around in the playoffs.
