What percentage of games in the regular season wind up having no extra base hits? That's a pretty amazing feat.

Close games in the post season are often decided by one ket AB.

Matheny allowed the Scrabble-RH bat match-up with the game on the line.

He should have left in Boggs to face the LH PH, or likely have brought in Motte for the 4 out save.

Matheny indicated he did not go with Motte as he was due up 4th in the inning. I guess he has never heard of the double switch.

Just checking in...you guys are telling me that this game was over almost three hours ago and no one has mentioned Chris Carpenter's son yet? For shame. You are slipping.

Nats winning 1-0 in the second inning today. Jordan Zimmerman w/the RBI single.

Garcia has thrown 51 pitches through 2.

Cards up 2-1 now and Garcia is lifted for a pinch hitter.

Bad guys up 3-1 now on a run-producing groundout. Ian Desmond saved it from being much more.

This will be interesting to see how things go with pulling the starter after just 2 innings.

Well this is no good. Allen Craig makes it 5-1.

Is it wrong that I'm rooting hard for the Cardinals right now? Besides the obviously fantastic part about us being in the championship series, I find it hard to believe a Reds Nationals series would be the least bit compelling. Reds/Cards on the other hand...
